New Community Development

History of Real Estate Development

New Community is New Jersey's largest nonprofit developer of housing and has more than 35 years of experience in developing and managing affordable housing. While today's New Community is a holistic provider of services to the community, NCC had its beginnings in the desperate need for affordable and livable housing in the Central Ward.
  • NCC's first housing development opened in 1975. Today, New Community manages nearly 1,800 units of housing that are home to some 4,000 people.
  • Includes family rental units, senior citizens residences and homes available for ownership.

New Community Department of Development
The Department of Development is driven by the mission of NCC to improve the quality of lives of the residents we serve by creating affordable housing that rebuilds communities and re-creates stable and healthy neighborhoods. The Department of Development enhances neighborhoods by emphasizing a holistic approach to development that never loses focus of a community’s needs or vision.

The Department of Development has been active from the beginning of NCC and has a staff well versed in the development process including both the financing and construction of facilities that create strength for communities.
