WHY: To give back to the community and help divert plastic toys from landfills, where they would ordinarily end up after being discarded by their original owners.
NOTE: Media will be permitted to interview and take video and photos of Harmony House children receiving the toys and playing with the toys.

Second Chance Toys is a non-profit founded in 2006 by a N.J. high school student to rescue and recycle gently used plastic toys for children in need. To date, more than 65,000 toys have been recycled and donated to needy children.
1-800–GOT-JUNK? is an established, full-service junk removal and debris removal franchise that will haul almost anything—from old furniture and appliances to garden waste and construction materials.
NEW COMMUNITY CORP. --One of the largest and most comprehensive community development agencies in the country, New Community Corp. was founded in 1968 to help residents of inner cities improve the quality of their lives to reflect individual God-given dignity and personal achievement. The New Community Harmony House transitional living facility is a 102-apartment facility in Newark with the primary goal of helping families move from homelessness to permanent housing and a life of self-sufficiency. By providing a host of on-site support services including child care and counseling, families are given the tools they need to overcome barriers and become stable, contributing members of the community.
